203: July 2021 Monthly Meeting Minutes & Show and Tell

15 July 2021

The Southern Maryland Scale Modelers met at High Tide Games at 7pm.  24 modelers were present and 31 models were on the tables!

We confirmed internally that Richmond IPMS Old Dominion Open is on 26 February 2022 and Northern Virginia IPMS NOVA Model Classic will be on 16 April 2022.  Time to start planning next year's show season!

We also discussed a display at the St Mary's County Fair -- Dan Y. will coordinate as usual.

And we had a moment of silence for yet another iconic model shop closing -- Denby Hobbies will be closing in April -- always a great stop when in the Norfolk area.

The theme was Dogfight Doubles, and we had quite a few on the tables. Show & Tell pictures:

May	The Expanse — Any sci-fi related subject
June	Anniversary - 20th Anniversary of the Club!
July	Drive Fast, Take chances! — 1/24 or 1/25 cars
August	Amnesty - Any project which didn't make the deadline for a previous theme month in any year.
September	Achtung Stuka! — Any stuka any scale or markings
October	Torpedo away — any torpedo bomber or ASW aircraft/ship
November	BTSK - Eduard 1/48 Hellcat
December	No Theme - Christmas Party
